Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course teaches to recognise and manage mental health problems in the work place. This is a two-day accredited course that delivers knowledge, awareness and skills relating to common mental health conditions. The course further qualifies participants to fill the roles of Mental Health First Aid Officers similar to Injury Management First Aid Officers appointed in the work place.

During the course, workplace scenarios, exercises and video training materials are used to assist with learning. Evidence-based communication and engagement strategies are taught.

Mentally Healthy Workplaces

Mentally Healthy workplaces provide an open and supportive environment where positive cultures are promoted for Mental and Physical Health and Wellness. Risks to mental health are managed and workers with mental health conditions are supported.

The cost of mental illness

Adverse Mental Health conditions cost Australian businesses in excess of $11 billion per year. Recent studies conducted by Price Waterhouse Cooper and by Deloitte estimate that every dollar spent on creating a Mentally Healthy Workplace will create a return on investment (ROI) of between $2.30 to $9.10.
